For Gahleitner Architekten, I photographed the villa on Lake Constance near Bregenz a second time – this time in daylight. After the dusk series, the focus here was on the form itself: white, curved ceiling slabs layered on top of each other like waves.
The balconies run in soft curves around the building, accompanied by slender balustrades that draw fine lines of shadow on the wooden deck in the raking light. Below, the house opens up to the garden, terrace and pool with floor-to-ceiling glazing. Towards the driveway, a round volume clad in slats and a green roof complete the ensemble.
I deliberately chose many viewpoints: frontally across the pool, through the foliage of the garden, from below against the blue sky and from above through the railing. During the shoot, a Zeppelin even drifted across the lake – a moment only possible here on Lake Constance.
