For Palisa Bauelemente, I photographed the renovation of a traditional farmstead – an existing building opened up with a large glass façade.
Conversions like this live from contrast: old building, new opening. It was exactly this seam that I wanted to show – where the existing ends and the glass begins.
Winter was a gift. Snow strips the landscape of all background noise and reduces everything to white and the contours of the house. In the night shot, the illuminated glass façade becomes the only warm point in an otherwise blue, snow-covered setting.
Inside, an exposed timber roof structure defines the space, in front of it large lift-and-slide doors looking out onto the winter landscape.
