For Palisa Bauelemente, I photographed a Bauhaus-style residential house in Linz – clean edges, exposed concrete, large glass surfaces.
Bauhaus architecture does not forgive a crooked camera. When the lines of a house are this strict, any deviation is immediately noticeable. That's why the shots are consistently kept straight, with the building's vanishing lines as the measure.
The elements by Palisa and Böhler are part of this rigour: a flush front door that disappears into the façade, large glass fronts without visible divisions, a lift-and-slide door with a wooden frame that extends the interior out onto the terrace.
