The IKUNA nature resort in Natternbach from the outside – tipi suites on a natural swimming lake, designed by Norbert Bruckner.
The tipi shape is a risk: it can look kitschy or distinctive, and the photography helps decide which way it tips. That's why I consistently showed the suites in connection with the lake – reflected in the water's surface, embedded in the landscape, not cut out like a product.
The best moment was sunset. When the tents glow from within and double in the still water, a hotel complex becomes a place.
Plus the transitions between inside and outside: reception, restaurant, lounge and a covered wooden terrace with outdoor furniture.
