For Palisa Bauelemente, I photographed a residential house with an indoor pool – spaces that live entirely from their glass surfaces.
An indoor pool is tricky to photograph: high humidity, reflections on the water, reflections in the glass, and a strong contrast between the bright garden outside and the darker interior. Balancing exactly this contrast without it looking artificial is the real work.
The same challenge arises in the bathroom with its panoramic window above the bathtub and in the kitchen-living room with its window seat – everywhere, the glazing determines how the room feels. The venetian blinds are a motif in their own right: they give the light its direction.
